The Wedding of River Song

Can someone explain this scene to me? I never really understood what was going on with their whole discussion…

She’s talking about how the older River Song is there on the beach, to see it, to see herself kill the man she loves. She wants to know why he would invite her, to make her see herself do that. His answer is to let her know that she is forgiven, that he brought her there because even though he knows that she kills him, he still wants her by his side.

She wants him to run away, she wants to rewrite time because she doesn’t want to kill him; she loves him. He says “Don’t you dare” like she does when he’s trying to stop her death in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead- Don’t you dare change those times they had together.
